I enjoyed the weekend learning about The 12 Levels of Being and especially the skillful manner in which you presented it and the gentle safe environment you provided.

It was a pleasure to meet and work alongside everyone in our group and thank you Sharon for such an insightful weekend.

When Spirit Doesn't Matter

The fellow participants shared themselves in such loving and touching ways and the learning from this for me is, be real! Be who you are.

We were asked what we thought a really spiritual person would be like. At first to my mind came this image of a yogi high up on a mountain in total alignment with all that is and beyond human traits and conditioning. In other words - it would have to be someone perfect. Well, little did I know! We are all spiritual beings no matter what our beliefs, our conditioning or our perception of the world is. So be who you be and enjoy the ride!

Another profound learning from the second day: I picked the word "waitress" in one of the exercises. What does this mean to me? Very clearly it means to me that my calling is to be of service. From a loving heart all is possible. I still need to do some work around judgment of myself and others and I am willing to do it.

The third and final day will stay with me deeply. The 12 Universal Laws are at work at all times. I took stock of what has already manifested in my life over past years and there is so much I am deeply grateful for. "Open your eyes - the eyes of your heart!" Simple messages and a sense of knowing from a different level, a level that bypasses my thinking - from that energy within my being. John has laughed at my question and given me a pointer. I am not only on the right path - I am on a wider path than I have imagined and I am only at the beginning of it. I enjoy the ride! Bring it on!

The learning from this is a heart filled with love, gratitude to my teachers and a deeper love for myself.

Counselling & Psychotherapy

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Personal Philosophy

Integrity, trust and respect are the foundation stones for a sound and rewarding therapeutic relationship.
  • Integrity means to stand in the truth of one's own being.
  • Truth is to recognise one's own inner Wisdom and Light.
  • Respect is to honour the other as oneself.
I believe in and trust the wisdom of each individual. Recognising we have the power to choose how we live our life moment to moment, is an integral aspect of Gestalt psychotherapy.

Sharon recently wrote an article published in Good Therapy entitled: What is Good Therapy (~16kb PDF). Adobe Reader required.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is really two words placed together: Psycho coming from the Greek word "Psyche" which means breath, soul and life and "Therapeia" also originating Greek which means attending to pain, illness or disability. Psychotherapy therefore is attending to the pain of the inner self or the soul.

Psychotherapy provides individuals with the opportunity to explore, understand and face the challenges that affect their lives. It is not by any means exclusively for people who are unwell. Healthy vibrant and intelligent people can and do benefit from psychotherapy.

How Sharon works

Sharon integrates theory with intuition.

She says, "I call upon my guidance to help my eyes to see beyond the physical, my ears to hear beyond that which is stated, and my mouth to know when to speak and when to stay silent. Sometimes clients come to me having temporarily forgotten who they are. Seeing beyond the physical to the unlimited beauty and infinite potential of the soul, I work with each individual so that she may to re-experience her own strengths, re-connect to his own wisdom and re-member all the parts that make up the whole person."

Sharon also Works with Children

After 15 years as an early childhood educator she understands how to listen to and creatively relate to children. Her tool box includes art materials, toys, games, a deep and an exciting sand tray. The most important tool in Sharon's tool box however when working with children is her training in gestalt therapy.

What is Gestalt Therapy?

Gestalt therapy is a growth-oriented, contextual and relational approach to working with people. The Gestalt approach embraces a person's physical, psychological, intellectual, emotional, interpersonal and spiritual experience in a holistic way. Each of these interconnected aspects of living is considered inseparable from a person's environment, history and culture.

Gestalt therapy seeks to promote a person's awareness, support creative choice and encourage responsibility in a person's effort to realise a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
