As I sit here thinking how to introduce my extraordinary guest Maggie Hamilton, I am conscious that I have to restrain myself from using too many superlatives. Maggie Hamilton is a former publisher who created the Inspired Living section of Allen and Unwin. It was through Maggie that my books Looking for Lionel and Everyday Miracles came into being. Maggie has inspired countless writers to go beyond their own perceived limitations. She has written many of books, including What Men Don’t Talk About, What’s Happening To Our Girls? and ” What’s Happening to Our Boys? When We Become Strangers, and most recently What Happens to Our Kids When We Fail To Grow Up? In this conversation Maggie looks at the grief we all experience when we have put our heart and soul into a project, but for whatever reason, it never actually sees the light of day.
In her gentle way Maggie reminds us that grief has its own timeline and the best we can do is honour the process. We explore the loss and deep struggle of relationship within a family and how nature is the one constant that will always soothe the soul if we allow it.
Knowing and loving Maggie Hamilton has enriched my life far beyond words and it is an absolute joy to share some of her wisdom with you.
